Anshul Rai SHARMA

(Visiting Phd Fellow, September 2026 – present)

BIOGRAPHY:

Anshul Rai Sharma is a PhD Candidate in the Geography Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research asks how urban resettlement sites are produced as spaces in which rights, civic services and tenurial security are held in indefinite suspension for minoritised groups, especially Dalits and lower-caste Muslims, and how those groups contest that suspension through legal action and everyday practices of inhabitation.

His dissertation fieldwork will pursue these questions through archival and legal research, and ethnography in resettlement sites across Bengaluru and Delhi.
